Thinker or Do-er?

Had an eventful day with learning about how babies are made... quite traumatising really.

Some random facts that I never really knew about. *I know... It's okay, by the time I qualify I should know a little more than I know now :P*

What actually goes on inside these womanly organs?

I was very upset to know that my poor little ovaries have to be scarred every time I ovulate. Then I found out that there are only around 400 eggs produced in a woman's lifetime. I am 25 so from my calculation I am nearly half way through my eggs and my ovaries will soon be scarred nearly 200 times!! Poor things!

I also learnt about how the egg rushes out of the ovary (via that little hole which causes the scar) and it's caught by a little hand (made up of fimbria and infundibulum) at the end of the uterine (fallopian) tubes.

The thought of the day though, came from the ethics lecture I had today. It was about how elderly people should be treated (There are no laws that protects them, they're being discriminated when deciding treatment etc.). Deborah, our lecturer, told us something interesting at the end that really got me thinking. It was by someone who she knew very well but unfortunately died in a car crash not long ago. She said that people often say 'Don't just sit there and think, go do it!', but he said 'Don't just rush in and do things, think about it!'

Interesting thought isn't it? :)

Are YOU a thinker or a do-er?
